What is Tungsten heat shield?

The tungsten/Wolfram heat shield keeps the temperature inside of the tungsten crucible and prevents people outside from being hurt. The tungsten heat shield is made of tungsten sheet with a purity of over 99.95%. The production process of tungsten heat shields in the sapphire growth furnaces uses tungsten powder by hydrostatic compaction and sintered at high temperatures. Tungsten heat shields used in sapphire growth furnaces can be made by hot and cold rolling.

Application

Tungsten/Wolfram heat shields are mainly used as a material of construction in specific areas of vacuum furnace hot zones. A maximum operating temperature of 2400°C  can be achieved. As the heat-shield parts in the sapphire growth furnace, the most decisive function of the upper and bottom cover plates is to prevent and reflect the heat in the furnace. Heat-shield parts with high density, exact measurement, smooth surfaces, convenient assembly, and reasonable design have great significance in improving crystal pulling.
