Key Benefits

  • Fast Self-Centering: Three-jaw chuck auto-centers round stock in seconds, boosting throughput.

  • Precise Independent Gripping: Four-jaw chuck allows exact centering of irregular shapes and controlled eccentric turning.

  • Versatile Mounting: Supports threaded and plain-back configurations for wide lathe compatibility.

  • Durable Construction: Hardened steel bodies and jaws resist wear under high clamping forces.

  • Complete Kit: Comes with multiple jaw sets and chuck keys to handle inside and outside gripping.

Applications

  • Woodturning & Model Making: Securely hold small dowels, spindles, and finials for precision shaping.

  • Machining Non-Round Stock: Four-jaw chuck excels at gripping hex bars, square billets, and odd-shaped workpieces.

  • Prototype & Repair Work: Quickly adapt between round centering and custom jaw setups for varied tasks.

  • Educational & Hobbyist Lathes: Ideal for miniature lathes in workshops, classrooms, and makerspaces.

Usage & Maintenance Tips

  1. Initial Setup: Clean spindle and chuck back, then mount with proper torque on mounting screws or spindle threads.

  2. Jaw Installation: Ensure inside/outside jaws are correctly oriented before hand-tightening the chuck key.

  3. Runout Check: Use a dial indicator to verify runout; adjust four-jaw chuck manually to minimize runout for critical operations.

  4. Lubrication: Apply light machine oil to the scroll plate (3-jaw) and dovetail slides (4-jaw) to maintain smooth motion.

  5. Jaw Care: Periodically remove and clean jaws to prevent debris buildup that can affect centering accuracy.
